Sharing my Day

Making art can turn any day into a fun day. Today I gathered with a group of people who, like myself, like to make art. We like to paint... We shared, we talked, we painted, we shared. It was a good time and what in reality was only 1 hour, seemed like 1/2 of a day. It was wonderful. Most of them probably won't see this post but I'd like to reach out and thank them anyway for making an impression in my day and being interested... in me... and letting me be interested ... in them.  Below is the take home result of my time with them today and I want to share it now... with You.

Thank YOU ...for also being part of my day.

Prices of art supplies . . . buyer beware!

Ok, I love love love new projects that cause me to go searching for new products to buy and add to my already large supply locker... but this week was CRAZY... First let me say that I love shopping at Michael's and Hobby Lobby because it's instantly mine! ... Amazon is great too, but you have to wait a couple days for the item... SO, having said that... I shopped 1st on Amazon for these "Golden brand High Flow Acrylic paints".  I found this:

Note the cost... $34.20 for an assortment of 10 (set)

Now... Michael's:

It looks like the same item... assortment of 10
for $79.99

W H A T ? ? ?

Also, in the store they only had an assortment of 5 colors, for $37.99

Even with a COUPON it doesn't compare!!

Goodnight Moon

I got a new camera recently, my loving husband bought it for me so I could take good pictures of the Moon!  I used to always try with whatever camera I had, and they always came out blurry... THIS one.. I think is the ONE!  here is tonite's moon!!

Spring Lavender

Last week I hosted a Paint Nite at a local Bar & Grill and we had a great time painting fields of springtime lavender. Here was my sample one for them to be inspired from:

And here are the resulting masterpieces. I love them ALL!

Well I am still trying to figure out how to get these moved around where I want them... so hopefully you can see them.
There were a few people who missed the event and wanted to come
so I decided to have a ReDeux on May 17th! and one person saw my Tree of Hearts and had her heart set on doing IT so I told her I would accommodate and show her that one.

Well that's it for tonite. Time to go get the laundry from the dryer!

Brush With Many Colors

That is the name of my Painting website( www.brushwithmanycolors.com ), Facebook page , and so I thought I'd blog about it here. Maybe I'll even try to blog every day... but let's not get crazy...

So what's in a name?  Is this name, a Verb?  "BRUSH with many colors" or... is it a Noun?? "A" brush with many colors... well it can be BOTH!  I LOVE COLORS... anyone who knows me knows this and so for those of you who don't know me (yet) now YOU know it too! When I see a white wall... it looks like an empty canvas w..a..i..t..i..n..g.. for .... COLOR!!

I painted my living room turquoise... YES, REALLY!  here - I'll show you a picture! Well it was tough finding one of just the room... but here's one with my hubby dressed for my Hippie Birthday party!

This one is from the "Oceanarium" looking into the living room.
Yes, I'm all about Color...

So it makes sense that I would only use... a Brush with Many Colors to paint with! (yes, I ended with a preposition!)

Anyway... welcome to my world, and I will try to share some of the many things I delve into from painting fabric and clothes to canvas and walls! Oh, here's a wall I painted...

I had a Van Gogh Starry Night but we painted over it when my step son moved in and I can't believe I didn't take ANY pictures of it!!

Oh there's more but let's not try and put them all in one post!  Gotta run and get some easel paper before Hobby Lobby closes!

Tangle Art is based on the Zentangle method - that being... an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. I refer to it as "structured doodling".
- Each pattern is view-able from ANY angle, therefore no specific pictures are drawn. (no hearts, faces, trees, etc)
- True 'zentangles' are only created using black ink. (no coloring)
- There are no mistakes. If ink ends up where you didn't want it, work with it, and incorporate it into your creation.

It's relaxing, it's fun, and it becomes a beautiful work of art, with literally NO SKILL required. There are many things you can do with your Tangle Art once created. I will post some examples and maybe give you some ideas!

I would be glad to lead a workshop for your group of friends, just contact me with your details for a quote.
